The bridge is a vital link, keeping the island populated and vibrant. The location is quiet and peaceful but with all amenities close at hand. Seil, the most Northerly of the Slate Islands, is connected to the mainland by a. The Bothy has excellent views over farmland to Balvicar Bay and onwards to Scarba, sheep wander by every so often.
The property was very clean with the underfloor heating and freezer turned on ready for our arrival and the hot water/heating and TV controls were all clearly explained. We’ve stayed in The Bothy two years running and will certainly return again. The two pubs on the island, which both serve food, are three miles from the chalet: Tigh na Truish in Clachan Seil beside the bridge, and the Oyster Bar in. Island View is a luxurious, detached house in an acre of garden, with huge picture windows showing off its spectacular sea views, on the Isle of Seil in. Bette and Nick are excellent hosts, very friendly and helpful.
